vtec not workin

i have a big problem.i just did a swap wit a b16a1 into a 93 integra.i have no vtec and i heard dat the vtec is not workin cuz of my knock sensor.i baught the harness dat converts it frum a ls to a vtec and it still doesnt turn on.my car runs pretty hot and my check engine light is on.is it true dat the knock sensor is my prob wit the whole car running hot and no vtec.can sumone help me plz.

It could be, alot of things have to work right for VTEC to work right. Check your VTEC wiring, check the VTEC solenoid and filter gasket, make sure its not clogged. You using the right ECU?

im using the ecu they sent me with my motor swap.i checked my vtec solenoid,knock sensor,and map sensor but im not sure y its not workin.where is my filter gasket?
