VTEC Question

i know this is a really stupid question, but on a b18 ls motor there looks like a spot where a vtec solenoid could go, but there isn't one. So could i just put a vtec solenoid there and get a conversion kit and it be a lsvtec that works instead of buying a whole new head?

im no expert but you need a whole new head. the rocker arms ar different and and i would have to emagine that the cams and a few other things are different .

The special cam (etc..) in the head is what makes vtec possible.
