vtec stutters....

pretty simple, vtec used to work good, then one day it doesent.\
b16a into an ef, when vtec hits it hits good for a half a sec, then starts sputtering like its redlining, but only around 45.5k-5k....

Basicly its not engaging fully.

Any ideas...i heard low oil can cause this, but my oil is full...

I added a qt of oil still does it..
Car is fully wamrmed up..
I cleand both solenoid and switch...
It works just cuts in and out.

Sounds like its hitting a rev limter around 5500rpms..
Pissing me off any ideas?

The first thing I thought of was to clean the solenoid and the screen/gasket assembly. I'd replace it. It's unfortunately like $25-30, but it's part of the elimination process... and it can't hurt to do it.

I stated in my first post i cleaned both screens, and solenoid and switch, there is nothing else i can clean.....\

Any more idea?

Tried a different solenoid all together from a different car, to see if it remedy's it?

I dont have a solenoid i can try. But i put a constant 12v to the soleniod and it clicks really fast...so i know it works.

Just put another one on there. Process of elimination, bro.
Junkyard, Friends, Buy one from honda then return it. idk.
