    whats a vtec solenoid?

    It activates your vtec at a certain RPM. It is connected to the side of the head.

    its actually the ecu or another electric device that sends the signal to the solenoid to engage vtec. what it is, is a solenoid that when it recieves power opens and allows the oil pressure to go through the rockers and lock the pins, engaging vtec.
