A gas stove explosion is the standard euphamism for bride burning. If the little woman is acting up, just douse her in Kerosene and poof! They are invariable reported in the press as gas stove explosions, but everybody knows what they are.
So this woman did something bad enough to be burned, and then after her life is ruined, she is forced to become a suicide bomber. This is not a voluntary choice.
