So I have been pondering the idea quite a while and not backed down from thinking about it. I haven't had much luck in the research dept, so i figured this the best place to look.

As far as the chassis that will recieve this idea, i'm aiming for EG, but it may be swayed to n EF (cost/availibility reasons) or possibly another very light weight similiar vehicle.

I have decided to transplant a Watercraft or similiar motor into the vehicle. I am wondering if this has ever been done before, if not why, and any concerns or things that i should look for that i may be missing. I am trying to aim for 2-stroke if at all possible.

I've come across 2 things i'd consider typical problems in a swap (by that, i mean a lack of a needed part between the motor/chassis). Watercraft engines are watercooled, fix by using electric waterpump and stock radiator (possibly adding an aircool fan as well if needed). Converting it to hook to w/e transmission the car has, I feel this could be achieved with simple welding for a custom bellhousing as a watercraft motor does infact have a impellar shaft.

Things I that I am wondering (as I do not own a jetski): Do they have a tachometer or way of measuring revs, do they have seperate oil/gas tanks and mix or do you mix yourself, typical engine measurments (will it fit?).

I may have to use a rwd vehicle, are civics extremely complicated to convert to rwd or is it a fairy non-complex task?

Money is not really an object as I am making decent income (300/week spare) and have no time constraints. I hope this is the right area to post this is, if not I am sorry. I do apologize for the length, thank you for any help possible as the internet in its vastness really sucks.

Well to be quite honest, orignality is a key factor. I have seen watercraft/outboard engines range up to and past 300hp. Personally I think seeing a 300hp 2000lb EG powered by an engine meant to be in the local river would be funny.

that's the most retarded thing i've ever heard...300hp boosted b-series motors are almost commonplace these days...not to mention fairly easy to build, if they're done right. You're talking about building a Honda, you aren't going to be original, sorry. A 300hp 2000lb EG wouldn't be funny, mostly because I can just about guarantee you that you won't make it happen, period. Also, unless your car is a right-hand drive imported from Japan, it isn't an EG.

I'm not flaming you or anything like that, just letting know how incredibly retarded and stupid your idea is. And don't come back with 'well anything is possible with enough time, effort, and money'. Blah blah blah. It isn't going to happen, period. If you actually have to come onto an online form and ask if it's possible, you do NOT posess the knowledge and/or capability to make it possible.

I was more or less asking if its been done and if there were possibly things I wasn't thinking of, issue wise. I, myself, do not fully possess all of the skills but I do know a good amount of people in the local area who can help out and have done some decently different things (LS1 miata, 2jz celica).

I know 300hp all in all isn't impressive, but the fact its powered by a boat type engine makes it different. Just like when you see a 3-Rotor motor thrown in a fc3s or a rb25det into a 240sx.

My mistake on EG, I was thinking all 92-95 civics were EG.

I just need more research on the engines themselves, that why i asked if it had been done, so i could have a possible reference. It'd be too long and pointless to type but I have constructed many of the ideas how to make it work, typical drawbacks of things the motors lacking, stuff of that nature.

Like I said before, I'm not trying to flame you....but putting a rb25 into a 240 is completely different than putting something from a jet ski into a civic. That motor isn't even remotely designed to be in a highway vehicle...that's like wanting to RTV the bottom of a CRX and put a trolling motor on it, and using it to go fishing...completely rediculous and impractical.

If money isn't an issue, just build a K-series with pistons and cams and boost the shit out of it.

you sure? i don't remember one about a vw van, but I do remember the one with the hilux...and i'm pretty sure they just tried to destroy the hilux by burning it, crushing it, drowning it, and putting it on top of a building that was being demolished
