I don't really know why I'm asking this, but I was looking for a new cat back exhaust, and I found one and it said "B-series engines" and seeing that it's only cat back would it even make a difference what engine platform I have? I would imagine no because the flange attached to the head is the only thing different..right?

yeah i think your right, it seems like the actual cat out to the muffler should be the same exhaust tunnel
 
it actually does matter..considering the header itself on a bseries is longer or shorter than dseries..the exhaust will be either longer or shorter itself..
 
oh no kidding, I didn't know that. but it's weird it said "for 88-91 honda civic dx hatch back" then it said for b series engine
 
its just made for an engine swap so that you don't have to do any welding on your exhaust to make it longer/shorter for the header.
