Driving my wife's car today I hear a strange noise coming from the driver's side rear tire area. Sounds like a sticker being pulled off the pavement over and over again while I'm driving. Couldn't find anything sticky on the tire and no debris in the tread causing the noise.

The sound gets faster as I accelerate, and I only really hear it if I'm in the far left lane (guess cause it's reverbing off the curb).

Wonder if any of you have heard of this before.

It's a 2012 Chevy Sonic, but I'd imagine if this is something like a bearing issue or a loose drum/shoe it would cross all vehicles.

Any advice to go on would be appreciated.

jack it up and spin it by hand. see if you cna hear or feel any rubbing.

a stone in tread woni't make that kin of noise.

however, a stone wedged in a caliper/drum/dust cover can, so check there.
