It happened like 5 minutes ago. I wonder how many voters voted under zero pressure about what might happen next job wise.......

Really pisses me off. What sucks is small business people will get nailed by it.

Yes this bill allows for people who normally wouldn't start up a new business due to being worried about losing health care coverage, to now not have as much worry of going off into something new, but also, this bill allows a lot of small businesses that make it by on small profit margins to FAIL

not to mention how many side deals were tossed out to the ones who originally opposed it.
bet they got a really nice bonus of some sort.

Oh and best part about this, in the future we will now pay our employees as with ourselves less.

our upper end employees make near 200% over min wage.... not for much longer. I'm not kidding either, this bill is bad for small business.
I'm looking at starting a business and this makes me think twice. I shit you not.

For the record, this is such a great history making event for the US, the first thing I said when it hit 216 is we're moving to Vietnam.

In a nutshell, if you have insurance through your employer, nothing changes. You continue to pay your premiums out of pocket through payroll deductions. Supposedly the premiums are going to decrease. I highly doubt that will happen.

If you for some reason are a responsible citizen who has decided of your own free will NOT to have insurance because you don't care, you are now required to purchase insurance, and risk possible fines/imprisonment for failing to do so. I imagine they will somehow manage to leverage your tax refunds or some other source of income to get it from you.

If you are, for lack of a more tactful word, a failure at life with no job, desire for a job, basically, collecting welfare and making babies, your insurance will be provided to you, at no cost to yourself, compliments of the taxpayers.

I believe what Jeffie is talking about is that small businesses will now be required to offer insurance to all their employees. The problem being that it is a HUGE added expense for a business to pay, and that money has to come from somewhere, most likely in the form of reduced wages/salaries.

I may have missed a few things, but I think that's the gist of it.

if you have a job, your company is required to offer you benefits.
which, as jeffie said, would most likely result in lower wages.

if you are a piece of shit, then yes, its free.

can anybody name some good suggestions of countries to move to?
we should all start composing a list, then we can all research and vote for the number 1 country to go to.

Well unfortunately, as crappy as our country is getting now - its still leaps and bounds ahead of the almost purely socialistic countries in europe, Canada, or the shithole areas of S./Central America. Asia is nice, but exchange rate, crowding and language barrier is huge.

    Sure our situation sucks here, but go anywhere else in the world and you will either;

-pay more taxes and have less freedoms
    -get shot at
    -work harder for less money
    -not have a job
    -not be able to communicate
-live at a lower standard of living

    there has to be somewhere.
apparently there are roughly 200 countries in the world. im sure that there is a least one that would be much better than this place.
sure, there are going to be sacrifices to be made. but im also thinking about how much worse this place is going to be in 10 to 20 years.

Yep. Had some friends that spent 2 years there. They absolutely loved Johannesburg.

Not sure why, but Australia also came to mind. Maybe New Zealand.

Not only will you continue to pay for it, you will now be subject to 12 new taxes, yes even for families making less than 250k a year.
