I would suggest using the moates ostrich for tuning and the moates burn1 for burning chips. You can find them both on their site and how to use them and chip an ecu. Check them out a Welcome to www.moates.net! : Moates.Net You can also learn alot about tuning and chipping at Welcome to PGMFI I like to use crome to tune with they have one version that is free you can get it at < C R O M E > Hope this helps and good luck!! ;)

It emulates a chip; lets you change bin's without having to remove and put in the chip.

Crome doesnt come with any maps, you can get them if you search on Welcome to PGMFI Then you can pull them up in Crome and munipulate them how you like. If you follow the instructions on Welcome to www.moates.net! : Moates.Net you will know how to burn the chips its not very hard.

The welcome part is a different site that you can get factory maps from, they come in the form of .bin files. The moates site is completly different. The welcome site is the pgmfi.org site.

Read the tutorial on how to use crome and so on, read the different links on this page and you will learn alot. Documentation : Moates.Net Also read everything you can on www.pgmfi.org there is nothing you cant learn from that site.

ok, sorry dok, i didnt pay attention to ur posts and stuff. Tuning for mods is pretty much trial and error, you check the AF ratio, go leaner/richer, check drivability, then use a gtec, make a 1420 run, or use a dyno to really close in on the best timing curve for a good tune. I used to tune ecus for motors when they were on a dyno STAND, and i got poor results once the motor was in the car. Usually the 0-60 time (on a gtec) will give you a good indication of the direction you are going with ur tune

and remember, none of this can be done without a wideband 02. Imagine playing darts blindfolded. Thats how accurate your tune will be if you play it by the seat of your pants. (unless you can hella read plugs)
