Hey, i'm new to hondaswap, and just wanted to know what I could put into my integra to get it a little more horsepower. I've got a header and exhaust on it, and I was working on a cold air intake, but what else could I do thats not too expensive, i'm a college student, so probably couldn't afford a b18b1 swap or anything. Thanks in advance.

A B18B1 swap? If you have an LS Integra then you've already got a B18B1 dude...

if you are in college, save every penny you can. pick them up off the ground or whatever. save it. then buy a real car when you graduate. use the integra for commuting. dont' spend any money fixing an integra. you dont' need the extra power. you need reliability.

why do you want to mod this car so much? are you going to street race? are you going to take it to the track? are you going to drift?

save your money. modding this car will be a waste of money.

Honestly, I think the cheapest thing you can do is take some stuff out of your car. Remove the rear seats or something. It'll be like a placebo effect, you'll think that it'll make a difference, and you won't have had to spend any money . Because you really can't do much with $200.

+1 get_nick, if someone is really serious about driving, a performance driving school is the way to go. I'm thinking about going to that one you talked about in a different thread. Do you know what kind of sedans they use, it didn't say on the site.

well, you would have to save up. it will also help on your insurance cost. i knwo you didnt' say you were a good driver. but most people who are new just jump shit and say, "i'm the bestest driver in teh galaxy. i never grind gears". and i just shake my head at them.
they have chevy cavaliers and the lotus elise. they are both bone stock. the elise cost more, but it's more fun.

Meh, I'd rather beat on someone else's car the first time I went to a track. God knows I'll probably take at least one off course excursion.

The 90-93 Integra has the B18A1. The 94-01 has the B18B1.

Honestly there's not a lot more you can do if you're only willing to spend $200 at a time. Anything beyond the intake/header/exhaust level is going to run you more than that and be more involved as far as installation goes...

coming from someone who has had alot of experience with ghetto hacked and improperly swapped cars, leave your car the way it is, save the $200 at a time you were going to spend on mods and wait until you have enough money to get a k-series or type-R swap.

if it becomes too difficult to wait until you can do it right, then you ( or I )have no business driving or owning a modified car, honda or otherwise.

it's a very hard lesson to come to grips with believe me.
