The only thing I would add to this is a camber kit. Suspension geometry is important. Tires aren't cheap either:)

Camber kits aren't always necessary. It depends on a lot of factors (the amount of lowering, size of the wheels/tires, etc.). I'm using Tokico springs with a 1.5" drop, stock wheel size, and the camber is still within factory parameters...

yeah if you put bigger rims lower it 2 inchs. then yes. camber it, even though the rear camber is on the rear is just a longer bolt with washers. but i ve yet to hear so much about the rear really burning tires. I own the skunk 2 front upper camber arm. I love it. which reminds me. i need to adjust one slightly.

got my 97 sol, dropped 4" still pushing stock 14's. front is hella cambered out, back not so bad. corners great, but tires dont last but a few months, like four to five. but i buy used ones so what the hey.

thats got to scrape ground. i believe stock suspension civics and sols have around 4.5 to 5 inches of play between the body and the ground.

My friends EK drags and he has about a 4.5 inch drop. Honestly any given point under the car is no more than an inch from the ground.

other than lowering & rims, i would suggest a front lip. that would be hot

So I guess I will need some more info on what you are going to do suspension wise. That way there can be a deciding point in regards to the camber of your wheels.

Build the car right and put new tires on it. Tires that match.

Fix the camber and put a decent set of sport tires on it and it will probably corner about the same or even better. I'm not knocking the effects of having some camber on cornering, but it just seems silly to be replacing tires all the time, even if they're used. At some point you're going to end up spending more money then you would have on some decent tires and camber adjusters...
