my friend has a 91si hatch with a d16y7 engine in it and im wanting a run a y8 manifold on there for him, but the only catch is the si manifold has this weird sensor on the drivers side of the manifold. what is this sensor? do i need it? i noticed its not on a 88 si. any help would be appreciated. i tried searching for this sensor on here but am unable to come up with anything

On the 88 models, that sensor is on the firewall right next to your map sensor. Just extend those wires, put the plug on the end, and your done. It is the little black solenoid on the right. My 88 didnt have that plug on the harness, and i wondered the same thing when i did my swap. Im not even using that sensor anyways. It doesnt run any different without it.
