Hi Everyone,

I have a 1998 Honda Civic EX Automatic.

I'm doing a manual swap from a 1997 Civic LX.

I'm going to need an manual ECU for my 98, but I'd like to convert to OBD1 because I also plan to run a socketed Hondata chip to control boost.

I'm not sure on what ECU's will be compatible. I'd like to know what model number I should look for.

Also, I will still be using my original d16y8 engine from the 98.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

OK. Maybe I'm on to something here from Hondata.com

Civic96-99USD16YP2PP72,P28,P30,P61,P08J,P30J,P72Js100/s200/s3002,6,7

So please correct me if I'm wrong, This is saying I currently have a P2P (OBDII??) And my car is compatiable with any of the following P72,P28,P30,P61,P08J,P30J,P72J (OBDI???)??.

Sorry I'm rather new to the tuning side of things. Can you please still help me choose which will work best for my situation. I'm thinking the S100 will be suitable for my needs.

Thanks again!

Yes, get an obd1 computer from that list. then get an obd1 to obd2 jumper harness so that everything works.
