What Kind Of Engine In My 96 Civic?

    Import virgin question. How exactly do I find out what kind of engine I have? It's a 96 civic EX automatic. Some info I have seen says it's a VTEC, others say it isn't.

    I'm not stoned, just stupid.

    It's a single cam VTEC engine. The engine code is D16Y8. You can look on the left side of the engine when you have your hood open- right next to where the transmission and the block join up, look for a D16Y8 stamped into the block.
