Any of you guys who know me know I've been a d-series head for awhile now so sorry for the b-series noob q... I'm considering doing a f/i gsr in my next civic but want to drop the compression to around 9.5:1. Has anyone done this? What pistons will work if any?
oh yeah I forgot the usdm version is only 10:1, I was thinking of the jdm version that is 10.6:1 I guess I would just have to make sure to get the usdm engine with the jdm trans... so what headgasket is thicker and wouldn't blow out all the time under around 10-11psi boost? And what would it drop the compression to? And if I did decide to go with different pistons, the LS ones will fit? I figured they would be different comp height or something due to the differences in stroke, but guess not...?
Cometic headgaskets are very good quality and come in all different thickenesses. Stock is .029" go to Honda, Acura Tech Website, tutorials, tuning and HOW-TO's. Drag racing, street racing, road racing - C-speedracing.com and use their compression calculator with different hg thicknesses to get the comp ratio you are looking for.
I came up with a .050 gasket for 9.5:1 eBay Motors: COMETIC HEAD GASKET HONDA ACURA ALL MODELS (item 8051752673 end time Jun-26-06 15:50:58 PDT)
