I ran into this on ebay: eBay Motors: SKUNK2 DUAL VALVE SPRINGS H22A F20B VTEC DOHC PRELUDE (item 290219469382 end time Apr-08-08 19:58:04 PDT) What are these for and how does this help performance if any? thanks
They will allow you to safely rev higher than the stock redline. If you're running stock cams though, then there's really no reason to rev higher any higher than the stock redline since you won't be making any additional power...
Thanks for the detailed reply. What cams would go good with these valve springs? Could you give me a link? thanks
What do you want to accomplish with your engine? When you get to things like cams you need to be thinking of the overall picture, not just another part you can throw on to make a few extra horses. Do you have a certain power goal in mind? Is turbo in your future? What are your current mods, and what other parts do you plan on adding?
As far as brandwise, Crower is a good and trusted valvetrain company. They produce parts for alot of Honda engines, I'm not sure about yours, but I just thought I'd throw my two cents in.
Like Blanco said it depends on what you want to do with it. Say you have just some simple bolt on stuff, I/H/E, fuel rail, FPR, etc, a stage 1 cam set work be a nice addition. You wont have to upgrade springs and retainers and wont break your bank account either.
