    whats up,

    I need your guys opinions..

There is this guy at my work that is selling a dark grey 91 240 sx for 700.00 there is nothing to bad comestically except paint fading.. The window on the passenger side goes down but not up.. I'm assuming that would be an easy fix..

I was looking at the title and looked at the model, I think it said 2LS? or something like that. I'm not too sure

My question is.. should I sell my SOHC turbo kit and yank this 240 and sell the civic and start building this 240 with a sr20det..

Does the deal on the 240 sound good I'm not to sure about nissans..

I was thinkin that nissan has alot more potential than a honda and it would be just something different.

Lemme know what you guys think

finsih the civic.. you're almost done with it.

drive it for a while, and then get a 240 thats not broken.

If you do get the 240, don't get an SR20det...everybody has or is getting them. They are not as unique anymore...get an RB26dett or turbo the KA24de, that would be sweet. And 700 is a pretty good deal.

Yeah, I would say stick with the KA24de and turbo it. It can make close to 300 whp and 300 wheel ft lbs reliably and it doesnt take alot of money to get that kinda power. The only weakness in the KA is the pistons, but it takes over 300 hp before they become a problem.

who gives a shit about unique, that has no bearing.

comes down to what he wants out of the car, budget, and goals.

700 is a good deal, get a 91 or up, since it makes the sr swap a little easier. It all depends and honestly I would have to see the ride and drive it. If you plan on putting a motor in it asap, then obviously the condition of the current motor really isn't an issue.

I would probably just finish the civic, like b said and enjoy that - then maybe trade it with an already SR swapped 240 in the future.

the 240 comes in 2 models only... SE and XE - and it only comes in 2.4L hence... 240sx.

XE is the cheap one. SE is the gooood one with all the power options and optional sunroof. i may have those backwards.

like milan said, the 91+ is easier since you dont need to do a power steering rack swap. 91+ is also DOHC. 89-90 is SOHC.

the car comes with the KA24DE.

The SR20DET and RB26DETT can be found for good prices at

    Here

Beware, the RB26DETT swap costs 5-6 grand, and is very difficult/expensive to install. The SR20 is much easier, and the swap costs a lot less at 2500.

    these prices are without shipping

K motor - has potential, and a lot of people down it, whats nice is its 2.4liters, the problem that I have telling someone to turbo the K series is that the motor has high mileage, and honestly I don't think it would withstand 400whp on the stock bottomend.

I advice with the SR motor since, it has low mileage, they are pretty cheap compared to what you get for a honda motor, and have seen dynos of stock bottoms handling 500 RWHP. Its a great nissan motor.

A lot of the choice depends on if you just want a nice, reliable daily drive, or a 1320 monster. The RB25det or even the RB26dett are sick but they are also pricey, including the kits that Mckinney sells to just install the suckers, plus what ever replacement parts or even upgrades that are needed to go into the RB motor - they are double the price of SR parts

Also if shit breaks, there are more SR knowledgable people in the US than RB specialits.
