Hey guys! I just installed a autometer pyrometer EGT gauge on my turbo d16z6. I welded the bung 1-2 inches away from the turbo. I was wondering whats the normal gas temp for these motors. In normal street driving, it reads 800-1100 degrees (F). And on the load it reads 1200-1350 degrees (F). Is this normal?? Am I running lean?? What does this all mean? Thanks in Advance!

From ClubSi:

Typical EGT (in farenheit) readings at 5psi on a greddy kit w/ blue box

idle..................................................800
40mph cruising in 5th gear.........1000
75mph cruising in 5th gear.........1250
WOT in 5th gear at 75mph..........1325

***Readings will vary based on gearing, mph, temperature outside as well as your a/f mixture. The leaner you are the higher the temps. You do not want to exceed 1400 degrees farenheit because you will be melting things on a honda

if that's your temp AFTER the turbo, that's way too hot.
if that's your temp BEFORE the turbo, its just really hot.

the probe is 2 inches after the turbo. the readings are in farenheit. I think thats kind of hot too. Well thanks for all your replys!
idle.........................700
cruising@3000rpm...900-1100
wot@6000rpm.........1300
