The BEST is the K, especially for NA, but it's far from economical.

I know the k20a is a beast, but theres two things i dont like about it! I dont like the look of the engine in the car and im not rich, I think its around $8000 just to do the swap on a stock k20a!

You just ruined any type of credibility right here. That's by far the stupidest thing I've heard in a while.

I can understand the lack of funds, but you have to be a complete moron to not put an engine with the most potential in your car because you don't like the way it looks.

You asked for the best swap, I told you what the best swap was, it;s not economical. Next best would be a GSR or Type R.

But I'm done cause that comment makes you retarded.

Ok take it easy, just because i dont like the look of an engine dosnt ruin my credability, I dont want to put the fastest engine in my car i just wanted some ideas, and if i was going for the best i wouldnt care if it was gsr, or type r because if i built it, which i would, it wouldnt matter what it was, the only difference really in type r are the internals, which i would change anyway, so whats the point. I really dont know why people have to be so oppinionated and want to diss on someone who might not like the look of an engine!

Are you looking for the best swap or not because your first and last post contradict eachother. First you say you want the best and now you don't?

Yes i said i wanted feedback on what the best swap would be, i guess i should have been more specific, By best i mean easiest to do, most cost effective, and most power, and best looking, If i wanted the fastest car i put a fuckin zr1 engine in it!

Why strive for an all-motor Civic? Just boost the damn thing. A lot more cost effective if you want something fast...

Excellent point, Chaz. If you're looking for for cost effective, to quote Chaz "boost the damn thing". A simple and cost effective swap that will yield some good power when you boost it would be a B18B. You won't spend much on the swap and you will still get some good power out of it. Anywho, that's my two cents. Good luck with whatever you decide to go with. :D

Then again, you could always get a Z6 and boost that.

You truly are an idiot. If there was one specific motor that was easy to swap in, powerful, and cheap, then every swapped Honda in the world would have that engine. The criteria you listed are mutually exclusive. Do you understand this term?

For example, if you want an engine that's powerful, then it's probably not going to be cheap and it might not be easy to install.

Alternatively, If you buy an engine that's cheap, it's probably not going to be very powerful.

Understand what I'm saying? You can't have all of those things at once. If you want to go fast, then you're going to need to spend some money.

Oh, and FYI, if you can't afford $8,000 for a K-series swap, then you can't afford to rebuild a motor for performance either.

As for your comment about how the motor will look under the hood, that's just fucking stupid. If you're concerned with looks then just start pulling shut off of your stock motor and get it painted/powder-coated/chromed/whatever the fuck you want...

How the fuck does a 300 horsepower car decimate a 600 horsepower car on the drag strip? The only way in hell that that would happen is if the 600 horse car was on shitty street tires and had no traction-inducing modifications at all (suspension, LSD, traction bars, etc.). Either that, or the driver just flat out sucks balls at racing. Otherwise, there's no way in hell that's going to happen...

    Once again, you're an idiot.

Actually there's more to the Type R engines then just internal parts like pistons. The heads are ported and polished from the factory, the intake and exhaust manifolds are better, the computers are tuned more aggressively, etc. If you don't know what you're talking about then no need to make comments like that...

And as for people being "oppinionated" (ever try spell check?) and dissing on you not liking the look of an engine...are you fucking kidding me? It's a fucking engine, it goes under the hood!!! 95% of the time no one is going to be looking at it anyway, so if one performs tons better than a different one, why the hell wouldn't you want to use it???

K-20/k-24 best combo but since this moron dont LIKE how it looks i say Go for a B18C1 (GSR) and just port and polish and get some hi comp pistons if ur going all motor if not then BOOST IT and hope and prey u build the hell outta the motor and not BLOW IT...and a 300hp all motor car blow out a 600boosted car....wow i highly doubt the 600hp car will lose...unless the driver sucked major balls and possible broke on the LINE..he can spool up off the line with the transbrake then launch hard off the line i really dont see the 300hp car winning

Nice catch I read right over and didnt even put the two together. Yeah so dont spend any money on any swap, spend the money on some boost for the B16. But its not like any of this advice matters, your just another retard with a battleship mind and a row boat ass.

I read that it was na Si, that's why I didn't recommend a b16, even thought I'm not a fan of the motor, it doesn't mean I wouldn't suggest it for someone else.

i read it and would have suggested just slapping on a turbo, but i was so annoyed i couldn't put together a productive response.

Instead of asking what the best engine is (K20a IMO), you should figure out what engine is best for you...whats your buget? how mechanically inclined are you? what are you really gonna use this car for? etc etc.

The biggest limiting factor here is always the cost though. If you really wanna do a b20/vtec then go for it, but theres alot more to it then just putting a b16a on a b20 block.

Ya i guess now that i look at it i was asking for trouble when i posted this thread, but its allright, mostly i just wanted to get peoples opinon, and i did so thanks! P.S. A 300hp na can woop a 600+hp turbo car on the strip because it dosnt have to deal with turbo lag or anything like that, if you dont believe me look on youtube! I also just found a video of a pretty much stock k20 in a hatch race a 400 hp turbo supra and pull on it hardcore! Stock k20- 225 bhp @ 8000 rpm!

You don't know shit about turbos so you shouldn't chime in about them. Turbo lag isn't going to restrict a car with 300 extra hp from winning, Turbo lag last like half a second.
