I was wondering what the difference is betwenn a b18a block and a b18b1 block. Any slight difference I need to know. Aslo, is there a "Best" tranny for all-motor applications? Thanx.
 
I think the blocks are the same, it might have different pistons, and a couple of sensors (obd 0-1). If you were plannin on rebuilding it for an all-motor set up then they'd pretty much be the same. And the best tranny would prolly be the type r tranny, or a b16.
 
I am sure very minor differences like mentioned above.


Not really a best NA tranny application, but if going NA I would get the JDM ITR tranny and also add a nice LSD to it, or you can really just put one together such as a S4 tranny with teh Jpsc ITR final drive of 4.7... and a nice Quife lsd or Kaaz.
 
the EDM ITR tranny is actually closer than the JDM tranny

it has the same gears as the USDM ITR tranny but the same 4.785 final drive as the JDM ITR


damn thats a lot of abreviations :)
