When does vtec engage on a stock b18c. would anybody recommend changing the stock setting?

I don't know when the butterflies open, but the VTEC crossover for the P72 ECU is at 4400 RPM.

Yea I notice mines comes on around 4500 rpm...
That's when the engine changes tones..
However it really doesn't start to pull until about 5300 or 5500...
That's why I don't like the dual stage...
I much rather have a single stage like on the other VTEC's..

Actually now that you guys mention it, i think it engages at 4400rpm and the butterflies open at 5500-5700rpm

not sure though, never had a 1.8 nor that intake manny.

I do not have the GSR manifold (using a B16 head) so I garauntee that the VTEC crossover is at 4400. It is very audible with ITR cams.

so when does it open on the p28? same rpm's? i have the mugen chip in mine and it opens at 4400 and redlines at 8200 and i would like to know if this chip is fubar'd

mugen does not make "chips"
you have a clone of a mugen ECU and someone changed the rev limit and the vtec crossover.
