Where to look for VIN?

    Where could i look for a vin # on the engine? which is easily located while the engine is in? its a 99 GSR

    i know there is one on the tranny. there might be a vin underneth or behind the block im not sure.

    Engines don't have Vehicle Identification Numbers, they have serial numbers that are linked the VIN. and yes it is on front under the engine code.

    right behind your header. if your looking at it from the front, its right behind the header, almost to the end of the block.

    alot of us engines do i have a d16y8 block in my garage w/ the vin # on it, it think its above the oil pan on the lip on the back
