So is the quality of the picture better on the 96? I was looking at specs and pretty much the only thing the 96 has is a cable card which i wont use... Plus, they are the same price too..

Well... here it is.

Samsung LN-S4096D 40'' high-definition 1080p LCD TV at Crutchfield.com
Bose Acoustimass 5 Series III 3-piece subwoofer/satellite speaker system at Crutchfield.com
Onkyo TX-SR604 XM Ready home theater receiver at Crutchfield.com

Using HDMI cables to connect the dvr -> reciever -> tv. A ps3 is in the near future which will also be using an hdmi cable. Do i need the reciever on to hear the tv (cable)? Or does it have to be on and the volume at 0?

bose FTL!

and yes, if you wire it that way, your reciver is your brain of your system and will need to be on to both hear and see on the tv.

eh, i like bose a lot. my father, uncle, and a couple friends have it. Its small, which i want, good price, and sounds great to me. :D
