Where do you get the money? Thats insane....

I've decided to stay in school. My dad came home today and started talking about having to go to Texas after hail because there's just not enough in Minnesota right now, he said I cant go.

im not a baller, i dont slang herb... i dont do anything illegal really accept for attending an occasional street race and smoking the grass...

i havent received my nursing practitioner license YET... i havent even gotten my RN yet... so i got about 4.5 years of schooling left...

i'll tell you this though, i've received a few lucky breaks in life and im not taking any of it for granted... when i do receive my nurde practitioner i'll be set to earn AT LEAST 75k a year... not too bad in my opinion

i have alot of family in the nursing field so im pretty sure i know that i'll be straight with a job from here on out... and if that doesnt work, i can always just buy my own convalecent home and make about 250k a year if its turns out successful

and if your wondering where im getting my money right now... thats pretty easy to explain... settlement money and Mom works hard

fuck that shit.

:shuuder:: NEVER will i go back to manuel labor again. i HATED being an electrician.
i love what i do, wouldnt change it for the world!
Having to crawl under a elementray school bathroom (that was being renovated) in the middle of the ghetto, at 8am in the morning and being greeted by a shitload of fleas and two dead, decaying cats was NOT my idea of fun. the TYVEC suits were a fucking joke.

Working for the los angeles unified school district, almost 90% of all schools out there were built PRE 1950's....big deal? try ASBESTOS and LEAD.

drilling into brick that was layed in the 1900's, and laden with asbestos was not my idea of fun. respirators? ya, i think i read about those new fangled devices....too bad they only gave them to us AFTER they got sued in court.

more? ok.

Wire pull. yaaaaaaaaaay. Lets work outside in 100 degree heat in the middle of the summer time in the valley at a new elementary school pulling wire by hand, then come to find out your dumb fucking boss did not plan the job right and you cant connect to the transformer.

more? ok.

SLURRY POURS ....

standing on top of a 6 inch wide hose that has enough pressure in it to blow a hole in the side of a building trying to keep that fucker in the trench. i loved it when i got slurry all over my skin and when i got home there were nice little burn marks from the caustic shit inside.

sorry, im just ranting. seeing you post about being an electrician brought back old memories....
i hope you got it easier than i did. thats all im saying :D

On the other hand, out of ALL of the trades i worked with ....

Electricians BAR NONE are some of the coolest people out there imo :D
we had a blast nevertheless

to the kid who started this thread.....read my above post.

THIS is most likely what will happen to you if you do not finish your schooling.

MANUEL LABOR.

true, you can get a job here and there that isnt manuel labor, working at walmart is one of them. it is very hard to compete in the job market if you dont have your degree. im not saying it can be done, but it is ALOT harder to find a job without a degree than with one.

this is why i finished my 4 year education at night while i was working in the daytime as an electrician and went onto grad. school.

you highschool kids think you know it all. please take us old folks' advice and stay in school, tough it out and come out with a really good job in whatever field you are good at.

OR

try the military. pay sucks, work sucks, but you will become a better person for it.
and once you get out, people will be beating down your door to hire you (provided you go into the right fields)

i implore you to stay in school. dont worry about what kind of cars we drive, or how much money we make....

its not important.

what is important is you working towards your goals. FUCK being jealous of the next man. fuck the other guy. life is all about "you" and as long as you are taking care of self, you will be very happy.

seeing as hard headed as kids are nowadays, i dont expect you to take my advice. more than likely you will learn REAL quick the hard way.

stay in school.

i know ur young and want to have fun, but the quicker you work on becoming more mature, the easier your life will be, and your life will move in the direction you want it to alot faster.

wouldnt it be nice to be making 80,000 a year doing whatever you want at 24 years of age?

I work 60 hours a week at two different jobs where I receive high marks from my coworkers. I try not to whine or whatever to be let go early at my second job. I want to impress my bosses. Concentrating on "becoming more mature" will lead to more stress at a young age than you can handle. I don't know HOW many times I've broken down and just ignored everyone. If you're young. Have fun. But don't be a total fucking moron and screw everything up.

There's a fine line in having fun and fucking up one night. Don't drink and drive persay, or don't do anything illegal ...well just don't get caught doing anything illegal. :p

I am trying to move the fuck out of my parents basement, but 1. I have to wait on my friends to grow the fuck up and 2. I'm too damn lazy to go apartment huntin gon my own, I am also trying to get a new car on my own. (more than likely it'll be that Black 2000 Civic SI I was talking about, as 2.5RS's are very rare to find)

I still think that I'm extremely immature at 21 yrs old. I dunno. I hate having all this pressure which I put on myself. This is part of the reason I'm selling my Escort to Brian...All i could think about was when am I gonna get this part or this part or that? It was driving me insane.
