i just wanna see what the results will say about wethere an alarm really does keep your car from getting broken into.

i voted for #4 even though my car was broken into when my alarm was not working (dead remote).

been jacked for cds and some subs and didnyt have an alram at the time. i will have an alarm on the Escort tho once i have money invested in it...

3 times. system and cds, 4 months later my motor,hood and interior, 5 months later, my whole car. if somebody wants it bad enough they will get it. had an alarm the whole time

I never have been broken into personally. My brother's car was simultaneously broken into in front of my house, his friend's also, and my mom's car, but mine has never been touche(I park in the garage).

They all had alarms or got them after being broken into.

Voted #4. Didnt have lock on the doors of my last hatch, never a thing missing. Alarms suck inless they are 2 way FM. They will scare kids, but if they want it, its gone.

I grew up in a smaller town ~13k people and i barely ever locked my doors, never had any of my shit taken but that probably because i knew everyone and had only a few enemies, on my parents house we NEVER locked the doors unless we were going on vacation and never really had a problem. Now i live in madison which is like 300k people and i lock my doors on my teg most of the time but we leave our door unlocked at my apartment up until a few weeks ago when we had a dvd player, cd player and a shit load of change taken. ive only heard of a few cars getting broken into around here but overall its pretty safe.

I picked the first option. Never saw a need for a 300 dollar alarm system on a car that Nissan told me was worth 250 bucks...(that very same Escort...)

I had a radar detector in my car and some guy walked up, opened the door and took the detector and cord...left the window mounting bracket...and then took my CD case with about 20 or so cds in it. Took me 12 hours to find it....fucking dickheads...

Had one but it was disarmed because the door pin switches were screwy... wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Thieves took my laptop and briefcase- about $6000 of stuff in a 5 second grab, including company secrets and everything. I don't think it would have mattered if I had an alarm. They grabbed it so fast that they didn't take my Valentine1, Oakleys, and the Polo shirt that was hanging up on the door.

I don't trust shops enough to do my alarm so I go with cut off switches they tried to stell my car before but ha ha no luck all they gat was a crazy ass hole with a 38 in his hand.

i have had my compustar for a year now and no one has broken in to my car.... but with my last alarm a person was checking my car out for over a week to see if i armed it, what they did ws throw snow balls at my car and my alarm would go off so a week goes by i get a notice by management that said if my alarm went off one more time i am evicted(sp). so i didn't arm it and that night my car was broken in to. i knew who broke in to my car a week later and i found out thru conections how it was done.

got broken into after a night at the club .... actually cought the fucker in the act (trying to steal my CDs)..... me and the people i was up there with (6 of us) surrounded the van him and his friends were in busted out the windows, dented the hell out of it and beat the fuck out of them all

then i drove home cold as fuck
