This guy sold me a shit ECU on EBAY and keeps talking smack. He couldn't live any further away, and Ebay is not being much help. He won't answer my calls and is trying to taunt me with emails.

The taunting I can live with, but this guy is a serious pile of shit. I'd like to see gay porn sent to him, and lots of sweet phone calls. I don't care what you do, as long as it's not life threatening or mean.

His info(he's using his wife's name and email):

Have fun kids :)

He's in Maryland? Got a home address for him? Can't jeffie7 or mdlax1 help you out?

How did he send it to you? If by the postal service, you can file mail fraud charges against him online and for free. It's a federal offense, which is serious stuff. Go to www.usps.com and look for the links on mail fraud.

So what's wrong with the ECU? Can you post a link to the auction?

I think that prank phone calls across state lines might be a federal offense. And to send gay porn would mean that I would have to find some to send to him... so no to that one, at least for me. lol.

I think that I've found your auction...

Untouched JDM P28 VTEC computer..LOOK!!!!

Well for a start, you should know better as there is no such thing as a JDM P28. There was no D16 engine sold in Japan. And there is no such thing as a "B16z6a motor"...

So is the ECU really fucked up (broken) or just not what you expected? It's clearly labeled as a USDM P28 auto tranny ECU.

Otherwise is not a virgin ECU as described... "this one hasn't been messed with at all" as there is clearly a small round hole drilled in the case for datalogging in the picture.

So in terms of mail fraud, the ECU was not at all what he said it was in writing. However the auction does have many clues as to it being very bad news to bid on it. And why the fuck bid so much for it?

I am in maryland also. That is more towards eric (mdlax) but let me know if i can do anything to help

edit: mapquest - Distance:83.8 miles Approximate Travel Time: 1 hour 52 mins

BTW.... I told Matt about this and he says that he remembers finding that auction and he did email the seller telling him that there was no such thing as a JDM P28 ECU.

And even if there was such a thing, if you were planning to socket and chip it, those ECU's are a PITA to work on. Just go USDM and have someone put the fuel map you are looking for on it. The guys over at PGMFI have all those fuel maps and settings on file there.

That seller had very low feedbacks, and now four crappy ones. With car parts, at least see if they are a member in good standing on a message board like this one or H-T and get some vouches from other members. And look at his name... he's a Mustang owner! (lol! j/k) But with a name like that... what would he know about JDM Honda shit?

And I am on your side, but I don't want you to make the same mistakes again. Also since this seller posted the label on the ECU, you could have posted it or PM a couple of the ECU gods on this board for their opinion on it. Also make sure to print out on paper, copies of this auction while that picture is still up.

Here's a another tip when shopping on eBay: search a seller's past auctions. Since your auction, he has had three more ECU listings. Perhaps due to Matt's email, all the pictures of the ECU labels are much smaller and getting fuzzier. Interesting to me, as in your auction, the picture with all of the numbers were very very clear. No good seller progressively becomes a worse photographer. This seller likes using "JDM" in the titles of his ECU auctions. Well last week he sold another JDM P28 ECU and this time the picture of the label is very fuzzy. What an ass! And this time it only sold for $55. P28 VTEC 5speed com A00 code B16a, D16z6 D15 B18a. Also take the time to check out the other buyers and bidders on their auctions. Repeat bidders could just be friends of theirs bidding to help him out. There is a lot of fake bidding on eBay, particularly in the automotive section.

This thread seems redundant redundant to me me.....

Hrm....

I'm at my parent's house right now in the middle of BFE, but when I get back to my house later, and have signal, I'll be sure and call to...uh...'wish him a merry crimmus'

Dear mstnglvr93gt,

Since they didn't make the D16Z6 in Japan, why on earth would they have the P28 (D16Z6-only) ecu available in Japan? Weird...

Thank you,
scratchygringo

Which Hondata website is this that you speak of? According to http://www.hondata.com/ecus.html, there is only one variation of the P28, and it was only offered in the US:

That's exactly my point. This fucker lies a whole lot.

The hole drilled in the case is not there.
The numbers don't match the picture.
It's probably USDM, and it's been chipped, poorly.

I asked the guy to make it right, and he accused me of doing shitty work, and has pretty much been a prick about the whole thing from the beginning.

Fuck the money, I don't care. This guy is one of those people that needs to be taught a lesson.

I'm open to suggestions. I wish I could offer a home address, but I tossed the box right away, and Ebay didn't send me that information.

tab, tab, tab...

Well my points are that you are an idiot for bidding on that auction at all AND now for throwing away that box. You are a longtime member of HondaSwap and there really is no excuse for you even believing that ECU ever existed. And then you tossed the shipping box! That is one of the key commonsense ways to help yourself fight mail order scams. It's all about preserving the evidence. Do you not watch Law and Order? And until you thoroughly inspect and test out ANYTHING purchased... ANYWHERE... save ALL the boxes and receipts.

So how do you know that this guy is even married? His emails sound more like they are coming from a stupid kid living at home and driving a 93 Mustang GT. And I can't google anything up for either a Martha Reeves or Nana Reeves in Maryland.

And somewhere out there, this kid is posting on some Mustang message board about how he "took" a stupid Honda owner with a bad ECU by lying and calling it JDM.

Well first, print out those eBay pages. Make several copies of them. Take pictures of what you got mailed and print copies of those pictures. Print out all of your email correspondences between you and him. Then still follow through with filing mail fraud charges against him with what little evidence you have. Also call up your local police or state attorney general's office and ask for their division of internet fraud. File claims with whoever you can. One of them should be able to pull his house address from that email address.

Get that home address and we can help you out much better.... B)

And how did you pay that ECU?

Hey how are you doing today?
I need some help from you what info do you have for this member
mstnglvr93gt (21)
He has sent a fake item and now I am tracking him down any help you could give i.e., address number ECT. Would be greatly appreciated. We need to get the info in order to file the mail fraud charges against him
Thanks for your help Matthew Bell

i sent this email to every person in his feed back from the top down to driver 455
but i have sent all my allowed emails br ebay can somebody else finish

Here is the link for filing your mail fraud complaint online:

https://www.usps.com/postalinspectors/fraud...udComplaint.htm

My first preference is for you to get your money back and just have the feds on his ass. While browsing through the FBI internet fraud sites..... email harassments was also on their list of complaints they investigate. Therefore, I urge the rest of HondaSwap and you to reconsider harassing him by phone or emailing him with gay porn. Just try to do this legally first.

Excellent, although some of those bidders look fake to me.... in other words, they may be friends of his that didn't really buy things from him, but just made sure that they didn't go cheap. There is someone on his feedbacks list that has even picked up the item in person from his house though.

do you like have no life or something, and are a moron? You wanna tell me that D16z6 motors were the only ones to have P28s in them? Please email me back saying that, obviously you can't navigate a website but just come with that jewel there and you're little swap.net rep will go down the toilet...before you go telling people they're wrong you may want to search the entire website genius. Here's a tip for ya...go search JDM 91 Acura GSR...guess what com came in the B18a????? HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! loser

To: nanareeves@comcast.net
Subject: Re: Question from eBay Member

There was not an Integra GSR in 1991, nor was there ever a JDM Acura anything. There was, however, a JDM Honda Integra XSi which came with the B16A engine, but the ECU provided from Honda with the XSi was an OBD0 PR3. I believe that the page you're referring to on the Hondata website is the 'search by engine' page, which does NOT show what ECU's were available with what motor, but shows which ECU is SUITABLE FOR USE with what motor. I.E. you can use a P28 with just about any motor out there...hence the 'Suitable ECU's' tab above the ECU list on http://www.hondata.com/engines.html.

I am also curious as to which car the 92-95 OBD1 Honda B16z6a motor came in. You state in your auction that this ECU is from 'a unopened JDM P28 VTEC computer for the 92-95 OBDI honda B16z6a motor'. I have searched the Hondata website, as well as several others, and am unable to find any mention of this mystery motor. Please, enlighten me as to what chassis the B16z6a was available in.

William Kitchens

^^^ Also nice, but these emails should have been exchanged before the bidding commenced. And for all of you using HondaSwap email addresses, I hope that he doesn't find this forum to troll on it with the rest of his mustang buddies. Yeah, our mods can handle it, but why make the extra work for them?

I'm William...and you're avoiding the question. What car did the B16z6a come in?

Also, on the JDM market, everything was sold as Honda. Acura is a US-only company.

let me know if i can help you out.. i'll pay the asshole a nice little visit. I hate scammers, half the reason why i wanted partscrunch to go somewhere

Hey, I'll admit it. I was VERY stupid and impulsive when I bought that ECU. He only had one negative, and I didn't inspect the auction that close. I checked the number in the picture, cross referenced it on this site, and bought it quickly. I fucked up. When I recieved it, I stupidly(yes again.) threw away the box.

This is the first person that has ripped me off on EBAY. $140 won't break the bank for me, I have a good job. If it were $200+, then I would have spent more time shopping.

I want to beat this guy's ass, but I'm not gonna be in Maryland any time soon. He's pissed me off pretty well. I tried dexonline.com to get his physical address, but I couldn't find it.

HA HA HA, I replied to that fucking fake email............I didn't visit here first.
