Distributor arking

ok why is my distributor arking to my head??? what causes this? and when i press on my gas pedal my car wants to die and then it revs up what do i need to fix?

new dizzy. unless you can find the place where its shorted out and fix it. check your wires while it sparking and see if you can tell where its comming from.
