I finally have some money to spend, so I'm dumping it into the house... pounding out some long awaited projects.... and everything is looking all sweet.

Then, out of the blue, Travis....the kid that I got the white Z from....he wants it back... But not as it is now. He wants me to do a body kit install, get any and all performance parts I can find, more stupid wide rims and tires, some $3000 paint job, fix everything wrong with it, and I'll receive a nice chunk of change for the work.

Which I don't have a problem with..... but I have no time...since I'm doing the house, and trying to catch up on some other major projects.

Then....that old skyline in Florida pops up for sale again, with a lower price tag....and I have the cash right now for it...but the wife would kill me if she found out that I spent the money that I attained for the house on some old car...while I still have 4 old cars that look like shit in the driveway.....

Granted...I could just sell the kid the car as is...for $3K's, and offer the wheels I have for it for another 3K's, and come up with another $2K's from the other sources I have for money....then buy a plane ticket and have them fly down and snag the car next weekend...and I'll have a rare car that only me and a few other people will love....

And I also got to go find a new subaru somewhere for the wife...that she will pay $5000 for the down payment, and I"ll be stuck with the payments until it's paid off....

I was planning on dumping a little money into all the cars to get them pimped out and running perfect....but then these damn deals pop up outta no-where....

But this would make a sweet garage queen...:D:ph34r:

Clayton, if I were you, I would find the time to get all the project cars together that you don't plan on keeping and flip them now. Keep the one or two that you plan to do an extended amount of restoration and modding on and use the money from the old projects to fund the new projects.

You can't drive four cars at once, a fact that yourself and Steve seem to miss.

THis is just me, but they're just cars. I know its a hobby, but you need to prioritize your projects and what brings the most happiness in life.

Seriously. There are college kids here that want their Hondas to run, there are people that want a daily driver.

"people like" clayton and I get to work just fine. We are seasoned pros that have fun working on cars. We've built more insane shit than most people will even sit in.

Lighten up for shit's sake. I don't care if I never finished my turbo Omni project, or my V8 Celica Swap, or my 4Runner project. I don't care, it's a fucking hobby.

And also, for those who have "missed the fact" Clayton shits out motors that out-perform some factory efforts.

The answer, as always, do what makes you happy - If both working on cars and the house make you happy, then hold each in equal weight. If your wife like the house ideas, then give it more weight, if your wife doesn't like your other hobbies, tell her to deal with it - it's a fucking hobby.

You could be off smoking crack. Fuck the neigh-sayers. People get on me for my car "habit" as if it's onpar with being a coke mule. Cars are dirty for 99% of the population and would rather see you be an ice sculptor than a hobbiest mechanic.

I have actually told my family / friends / girlfriend to shove their opinions up their ass over this little argument.

When you have a garage though, and your favorite music, and you have time to work on something cool - Dude, it's fucking nirvana.

I'll race them when their ready.....

The red Z runs...but I have to deal with an exhuast flange.

The CRX finally got it's motor and tranny installed, all it needs is hooked up and an axle dropped in....then off to the emmissions test and DMV for a new registration.... then DD duty for a while so I can enjoy 30mpg for the rest of the summer.

The civic is getting junked as soon as the CRX is on the road.

The white Z will be sold off, the leggy will be sold off..and the CRX might see the For Sale ads for awhile. A new or newwer Subaru will find its way to the driveway and will be the new winter beater for a few years. And then there is that damn Skyline that tempts me soo bad. The red Z will gain a 10-point cage, which I have, and the garage will find a new mig welder and possible a decent tire changer machine....

The shed is still in the planning, and I"m finishing up the garage's sheathing today. One 15 yard dumpster left this morning, and a fresh empty 15 yard dumpster showed back up just 20 minutes ago.....

It is a real one....the guy brought it from Japan, waited two months for it, and got it registered...100% legal. Note the driver seat is on the right hand side?
