I blew my stockie and need a cheap replacement. So my questions are:

1. will it bolt to a L3 Tranny?

2.will it use stock crx mounts?

3.will it clear the hood?

4.if I have a PO8 ecu, is the wiring hard?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer me!!! :worthy:

1. will it bolt to a L3 Tranny? If its a D series tranny it will

2.will it use stock crx mounts? Yes, you'll have to move the bracket of the old driver mount onto the new engine.

3.will it clear the hood? Should

4.if I have a PO8 ecu, is the wiring hard? Get a conversion harness or use the OBD0 distributor off the old motor.

if you go OBD0 youll have to change the O2 sensor to a 1 wire, just pull it from the old motor. The distributor wont line up on the bracket but 2 bolts will hold it fine, you may have to modify it to fit. Also you'll need a way to activate Vtec because your old ECU will not work. Wire up Vtec. B)

If you go OBD1 youll have to wire for Vtec, but you'll have to convert the wires, get a harness from hasport or rywire it'll make your life a lot easier.

Either way your likely going to have to run some wires from the engine bay through the firewall. Its not all that complicated.

just replace necessary parts while their out, like timing belt, water pump, and clutch.

I'd go OBD1 to be sure everything works as it should.

well I have gathered everything I need except an ECU, a buddy of mine has a P08-900 (AT) that he will give me. Will using an auto ECU matter at all. I've been told autos use a milder cam, but what about fuel, vtec and rev limiter? are they the same other than being for an auto?
