Will a D16A6 ('88 CRX Si) bolt into a '96 civic si?

I'm new to the forums, so bear with me.

Will the stock engine from my '88 CRX Si bolt into AND work (ECU-wise) in a '96 civic Si?

if your 96 civic si was stock sohc non vtec, the engine will go in, you will need the 96 trans, and the 96 ecu, it should run

for sure it will as long as it is non-vtec like LWC said but if you had the vtec you would prob be runnin a p28 and would have to go back to a non vtec ecu and use the non vtec harness
if it was vtec just get another vtec motor

you will need to run obd1 electronics on the motor(obd1 intake and exhaust manis,as well as alt...but yes it will run

Are you Canadian or somewhere else outside of the States? The US didn't have an Si in 1996...
