will an ecu for a b16 OBD work on a d16 vtec OBD1?

My friend has an ecu that is meant to go with a B16 OBD1 and i was wondering if i could use it for my D16z6. Actually its a D16y7 block with D16z6 head but the wiring harness is for a z6. thanks for the help

Yes it will work if the ECU is not equipped with a knock sensor board or it is disabled in the ECU. It will be rich for sure, and not have as much ignition advance as a true P28 but it will indeed run it.

Sweet. "....So you're saying theres a chance...." lol. Thanks though. I could probably use it for a week or so before I pick up a p28.
