Will this make a good DD

    Hey guys here are the messages on whats in the engine. Its in a 1990 crx. Will this make an ok DD im not looking to race it alot. But i want to have just incase i go to the races. But i also need it to be a DD.

    The first text said, "block was bored..."

    To me, that reads "race car" not "commuter car".

    Like TurboMirage said, a daily driver is stock. With a dd, you want 99.99% availability. That .01% is reserved for oil changes and tire rotations.

    I dont see where boring a block detracts from DD ever. Unless you go too far and overheat it.

    Only thing I see in there kind of too radical for daily use is the clutch. Everything else i see is built for durability any way like the rods...so I see no problem, as a turbo set up with 9:1 you should be good so long as you keep the boost low. One other thing is if you are running 1/16" rings they can wear out fast.

    it doesn't detract from being drivable. but imho, a dd is bone stock. it's meant to be a point A to point B vehicle. It has to be reliable. going as far as having block work done doesn't entail being a dd.

    over my life time of 50+ cars, ive found that just like the other guys, stock is best. the easier and smoother it is the better.
