wipers and rev counter issue

have a 96 acourd with a problem with wipers, they dont shut off and rev counter goes all funny pull wiper plug out of steering colum and rev counter acts normall?

Check that all the wires are plugged in tight, not worn through or pinched or damaged.. Make sure the grounds are in good shape. Could possibly be a bad relay too, but I'd bet on wiring or grounding issues.

where would the groud be for the wipers?

also done some seaching and seen icu can cause this prob and also door ding has stopped? what does icu do?

If you have had any engine work done lately, check the ground wire to the left of the distributor. It is located on the lower bolt of the Thermostat housing. This should clear up the tach issue (rev counter). As for the wipers you need a new switch (which is the lever sticking out from the left of the steering colum.

yea head come off , solved tacho issue. but the wipers have only done it since head was off and srs light and abs light stay on all the time aswell?

sounds like you have a serious short in the column. did you pinch any wires when you put the colum back together if so electrical tape and a test probe light are going be your new found freind. good luck. if your not sure of what your doing don't be to proud to get help for air bags hurt when deployed.

havnt touched coloum apart to pull plu out to stop wipers going

if the battery has been off for along time does srs and abs need to be reset, also havnt solved wiper problem?

ok reset srs mint! cant pull codes on abs jump service connector and stays solid? wipers still wont shut off this happend after we fitted a turbo kit up would a earth off cause problem as we have no idea why it has just started
