OK, here's the situation.

Linksys wireless router. > ethernet connection to a desktop, wireless connection to a laptop. Desktop running XP home, Laptop running XP Pro. Both have service pack 2. Laptop sees router, desktop sees router, can't see each other. Connections are configured the same on both systems.

Laptop was completely updated 2 days ago. Desktop hasn't been updated in probably a few weeks to a month. (he's on dialup)

Does anyone have any ideas as to why the router sees them both but won't allow them to communicate?

Are you running XP firewall? Is your reouter a dhcp server?

Neither comp has the firewall enabled and I have the router set to DHCP serve.

Do you have File And Print Sharing Services installed in your TCP/IP settings?
