Wiring question

I was just reading through the articles section, but I still have a couple questions about wiring. I have heard two things... that I will need to add 3 wires, and that I will need to add 7 wires. Which is correct?

And, how do I know where the knock sensor is, or where the VTEC pressure thing is on the engine? I know now where to connect the wires to the ECU

I know where to connect the wires to the ECU, but what do the other ends of these wires connect to? I will either modify my JDM GSR harness, or modify my CX harness...not sure which yet.
