Ok here its is. i read the art about ecu's. my question is can i save some cash in using my p28(?) compter from my 99 civic coupe, when i swap a gsr B18c1jdm motor in it. Look my car is obd1 and the gsr would be obd2 right. So if i understand correctly obd1 is a better ecu and i would need to add some wires? for secondies?knock sensor.etc. Can someone explain this to me please cause i'm really confused.??

a 99 coupe is obd2 yO.
a p28 is obd1.

what year b18c1 are you getting?

if you reallly want a p28 to run an obd1 b18c1 , it'll work, but you'll have a rev limiter at like 7600 (i think that's it) and the ignition maps and fuel tables will be all wrong.

i'm looking at a motor from 1997 to 2001 but a 1999 would be great.
why?

the only way you'd be able to use a p28 with that swap, unless i'm reading this wrong, is to convert to obd1 and chip the p28, which will probably cost more .

so i guess i should use the ecu the comes with the swap.
which is really best my ecu rechipped and rewired? or the gsr ecu that would come with the motor swap
