When you donate to Locks of Love you have to prepare the hair first. When it's cut it has to be cut specifically in order to weave it into a wig.

I donated my hair to Locks of Love. (Yeah yeah ... but my hair was perfect)

The requirements are basically; must be 10inches or longer, and can not have been stripped, i.e., bleached a lighter color.

I had an ex that would do locks of love every year and they would usually accept hair even if it had been dyed or was stripped.
