is it a legit copy of xp? it might be detecting that its not "genuine (sp)" one and not letting you download installer.

you can d/l the installer. after that it will download the verification tool. when you go to verify, you'll run into trouble.

ive never had problems with verification. i still get all the latest updates and stuff like that. not that im using an illegal copy of xp though
