    use Wine emulator,
    or use Gimp (photoshop equivelent)

I was interested in Suse until I found out there's no way to get a .bin copy of everything, you can only install via FTP.

I'm looking at switching to linux as well, but I need my Autocad, and taxcut etc. to work on linux, I'm gonna build a test system and work everything out and see how it goes,

that's exactly where i'm at right now.

i've used about 500 gb of linuxiso.org's bandwidth the past few months... lol i even donated cuz i felt bad.

    test box is almost running.
and like you said, there's just a few key prog's that you can't live without that have the possibility of not running. its kinda shame.

is Gimp <really> an equivelent to photoshop?

Not at all. Not yet anyway.

It's a great program, but it's just not at Photoshops level yet.

Honestly, i don't think i'll be running suse.

i'm probably going to make the step-in with http://www.lycoris.com/

it seems easy to use, and very windows-ish, and that prductivity pak looks killer.

best of all, they have some pretty active support forums
