Hey guys. Im new to this forum so forgive me for my noobness:mellow:.
In my fount yard i have a 1990 xsi (rsi u.s i think) da8 which has been off the road for a few years. The bodys rusting out and needs to go. I was just wondering what kind of chassis (apart from a da) would be an easy bolt-up n wire-up swap for my b16a (gen1). Id prefer something even just alittle lighter than the da tho. And how hard would it be? The most iv done is strip a whole engine (89 1.6 mazda), measured all bearing clearances and put the thing back together to get it going (off an engine stand). ANY help appreciated

It's an OBDO vehicle with a cable transmission. It will "fit" in almost everything Honda made around that time. I would say a CRX, or if you need a backseat, a Civic. Just Google whatever you decide. That is a very common swap with many write-ups.

88-91CRX would be the way to go.. but like slushbox said, if you need a back seat.. go for a 88-91 Civic hatch

The CRX doesnt have a back seat, its a two-seater, and yes you need an mount kit. Hasprt makes really great products but they are a bit pricey. I have Avid mounts in my B16 hatch and I like them.

JDM crx's came with back seats. but those are rare and expensive. go with the civic hatch. your rear passengers will thank you.

I love my hatch. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Ok. So if i bought an ef what other parts do i need? Apart from the parts i can scrap off my xsi (engine, gearbox etc). And what sort of fabrication is needed? And is this conversion more difficult with a carby ef?

if it is dualpoint you have to convert it to multipoint.
