So I'm browsing my old forum when someone from ERDT comes onto it and says look at this!!!

What car does that drop in? What year escort, whatever? Specs on the motor?

It'll drop into a

~91-96 Escort GT
~90-94 Protege LX
~91-95 Mercury Tracer LTS
~Later model Kia Sephias (which also use the BPD8 motor)

It's a JDM BPT (GT-R) making 210 hp and (I believe) 200-210 ft lbs torque
The JDM BPT GTX makes 180 hp 180 ft lbs torque at 7 psi or so
The USDM BPD8 GT motor makes 127 hp 114 ft lbs torque

He's going to be dropping it into an Escort Wagon (which I believe to be a 2nd gen 91-96) All he'll need is GT axles and he's good to go since he has his Haltech ECU handy.

Lucky bastard. I searched for 6 months for a GTR...nothing...but plenty of GTXs, for about 1100 bucks... He got that GTR for 600.

Wouldn't that engine also drop into the mx6? My brother had a 90 MX6 GT. It was the turbo model. Thing was pretty fast, and ran to 200k miles. Great car.

It might...I'm not too sure...the 1.8L V6 in the MX6 might have different mounting points. No ones ever asked that question. That would make some difference as well, 130 hp < 210 hp.

and no AMD...you're reading it right. he got a 210 hp turbo motor for under 600 bucks.
