I'm selling my new MB Quart DSC4125 amp ;)

First thing I bought, I believe was a Panasonic HU. First component set was from CDT; I think I still have the tweeters and crossover but sold the mid speaker.

Today's aftermarket isn't as big because new cars are coming with better audio systems. Nowadays only people really into systems are SPL guys.

So about 500W RMS total with 4 4-ohm speakers(which should be plenty for most).

Yeah... digital cameras weren't available when I started tinkering with car audio. I think my first piece was some Clarion tape deck head unit that I had to mount vertically though. Crutchfield FTW in the old school- the car was wired for mono- and they kept guessing at wiring configurations before we figured it out- and they kept replacing head units overnight for free every time they burned out. Great company and great service- just not the best prices.

My first system was when I was 16 in my first car 84 escort. I had 2 15" cerwin vegas. The box was so big I had to put it in the back seat, I don't remember the amp though..

My first head unit was a 2-knob Alpine Cassette with two pioneer 3-way 6X9's, stock front 3.5" and one MTX Road Thunder II 4-ohm 10" sub in an '86 Chevy Silverado. Two Alpine 30X2 amps pushing the sub and 6X9's....deck pushing the 3.5" stocks. It wasn't much.....but it had some bump. That was my 1st box I made all by myself. It was barely over a cubic foot after speaker displacement and bass was too tight for the hip-hop I listened to (can't get much in those Chevys). But the whole experience was fun for my first sub box. Got my Alpine CD player with a removable face a year later....that was a big deal back in the early 90's (pull outs baby!)

my first little stereo system was in about 97... i had 2 JL 8" subs, the cheaper ones. had some crappy 200 watt amp on them, didnt hit very hard at all, they were in a terrible cheap ported box. it was ok for a high school kid though.

i have since upgraded the stereo in every vehicle that i have owned, most of them involving 1400 watts or better.

    High school times..

2 15's Rockford with Mtx thunder 750 something (900 ish watts or so)bad ass amp that I ended up frying.
2 10's MTX with cheap 350 watt kenwood amp
3 10's Punch DVC (first generation) with Jl500/1
    1 13W7 with 1000/1

    2 10's Boston G-5 with punch 500.1 and then upgraded to 1000/1v2
    My rsx had
    -1 13w7 (again) with same 1000/1
-1 450/4 to some JBL power series components

sold the sub to improve handling and only have my mid/highs amp installed.
still have the 1000/1v2 mrs. taco got me for my birthday. :)

thats all folks! I miss the bass but can't justify it messing my handling skills yo!

tI'm sure I missing a few systems from my high school times.

first "system" was in my civic, two Dual 12" subs in a terribly built box that i slapped together in about 10 minutes. everything else was stock of course, who likes balanced sound?

most impressive system I had was actually in my Volvo wagon. I had 4 12" alpine subs in that powered by a 1200 watt JBL amp. had focal speakers in the front doors, hertz in the rear. 500watt JBL amp powering those, and a Kenwood deck. it was loud as hell, but also very clear. then I added another sub, a Kicker L7 15, and that was just too much. caused the headliner to fall on me once while i was driving, and for the remainder of the time i owned the car it sagged. lol

my first "system" was in my 72 monte carlo and consisted of 2 400rms audiobahn subs in a sealed box, and an 800rms audiobahn amp. pretty cheap but it bumped alright lol

My first system was 2 8" eclipse with a 400 w Jensen with tape player with a handle on it so u could pull the whole headunit out for theft protection . It was carried around like a suit case. All in my first car age 17, 89 ford tempo back in 1997 ...man that amp always over heated!

First and only thing I ever bought was a JVC head unit that would allow me to plug in my iPod. Maybe my closet can play my music because that's where it still sits.

k...well i guess im gonna be the one with the cheapest system, but back in the day my first system was an Optimus (Radio Shack brand...lol) tape deck and 2 100w bass tubes. it was cheap as hell but had had some good sounding (at least i thought at the time) bass in my little 1994 Ford Escort GT.
