Hi everyone. I'm very new to cars and would like to get some advice from the more experienced members on the board on what engine models i can swap into my Integra with minimal complication. The exact specs of the model i have are here Honda Integra 1993, ZX Modification (used, imported, new): pics, specs, performance.

Please bear in mind that i come from an area where access to quality parts and technical expertise is very limited and technical installations are done in backyard workshops with little to no specialised equipment. I'm not particularly doing this for perfomance/tuning reasons but simply to get my car back on the road after the old engine developed problems. Any advice will be very appreciated. thanks.

since your engine is carbureted it is going to be a lot of work to swap in any fuel injected engine - your fuel system and the wiring for the ECU are not set-up to work with a fuel injected engine - if you wanted to convert it over to fuel injected, then you could swap just about anything into it - the easiest and most economical way to do it would be to get another carbed ZC

check out this thread about the same thing:

re: your zc...

i did a single cam zc swap but ran it off of an 89 si. i did have to plug a hole in the head but other than that i was happy with the result. i was in a similar 'cruddily running motor' situation. while we were in there we did the clutch as well.
