Will a decent sized street-bike fit in the back of an element? Like a r6, r1, cbr1000rr, cbr600, gixxer, etc.
Has anyone tried it? I'm going to be moving to the US and A in a few months, and I'll need a car for the winter, but I also want something that I can carry the bike around in without a trailer. Oh, and I'm choosing the element because of it's 4wd capabilities. |

Would be close, but the bike is probably too long.
I went and found a pic of two bycicles in the back, and they barely fit. You'd probably squeeze by hight wise, certainly fine width wise, but the motorcycle is probably too stinkin long. ![]() Was a kick ass idea, though. What about a Ridgeline?

Because I don't like trailers. They scream "STEAL ME PLEASE" here in europe, and I can't imagine it's any different there in the US and A.
I want to be able to throw the bike in the back of the car, and not have to worry about people gawking, or messing with the bike. I like the idea of converting from a motorcycle on a trailer to 'just another car'. Besides, I can't take a trailer on the highway very fast. I don't think the ridgeline will hold a bike. My coworker was talking about it. |

Holy crap. The Ridgeline is big enough to carry a bike.
![]() Still, my point stands. If I go to a hotel, and spend the night, I don't want everyone to see my bike, and possibly steal it. |

Guess what? Just about any bike other than the Hayabuysa will fit.

Remove the front passenger seat and I'd be willing to bet you could actually close the hatch, too.

![]() With "Dead Animal Removal" graphics down the side and a bloody shovel strapped to the front. Noone in their right mind would come within 10 feet of it.

OK, well, I've decided.
As soon as I land in the US and A, I'm going to buy an element. The Element, EX 4wd. Then I'm going to head on over to the bike dealership, buy one, and stuff it in the back. |

Dude. I don't want a trailer. I can't park one in my new neighborhood.

My civic will not pass emissions. No fucking way. OBD1 on an OBD2 Chassis? lol. Also, it's European spec. No way they'd let it in. |

I've seen some Euro-spec BMW's rolling around here. Complete with overseas tags(looked similar to those German tags some people put on their BMW's) and steering wheel on the other side. I do not know how they got it here though.

The deal with that is that they have to leave after a year. The car can't spend more than 365 days in-country, or it'll get seized by customs -- Unless they're foreign military or diplomats, then it's OK as long as they've still got their appointment.
Since my car is registered with the American military in europe, as soon as I leave Europe, my plates are invalid. My mom rolled around in her '08 328 with some german plates for the last two months (In MD, you have to live in a house for a full month before they'll let you get a license and register your car, but you have to have a house first). She said that people kept trying to race her on the highways, and when she'd park, everyone would crowd around and look at it. She thought it was because of the plates, but it was more the car than anything else. EDIT: Besides, I don't feel like shipping my car, only for it to get to the US and A and find out that some assclown blew the headgasket because he saw that it was turbo'd.
