Default ABS brake pad swap

so I've heard two schools of thought on changing the pads on an ABS car (a teggy to be exact)

should I release the bleed plug when I compress the caliper or leave it in like I would do on my non ABS ride

please to be telling me

kthankx

you can leave it closed and just push it back into the reservoir
but you should be flushing out your brake fluid once a year (2 years max)
when you change the pads is generally a good time to do it

bleeding out the fluid is probably exactly the same as on planes huh?

press brake peddle to the floor and hold

open bleed screw and look for bubbles

close bleed screw

repeat as required

yes?

yeah pretty much

i generally open all of the lines and let gravity drain the system out
then refill with fresh fluid
leave the lines open until clean fluid comes out
close each line when clean fluid flows from it
then bleed the system until the fluid looks nice and clean and there is no air left in the system

i empty out the system first because i found it takes less time than if you keep diluting the shitty fluid thats in there

a speed bleeder would probly save a shit ton of time but i have been too lazy to pick one up
