Default Slipstreams w/ Tires for 600??

I got a friend that said he could get some slipstreams with tires for 600, from what i have searched that seems like a good deal? Anything better out there? Also what do you guys think of those rims.....i know they are trendy, but they are simple thats why i like them.....i have always ran steelies and this is going to be my first rim purchse . Is there any difference between those and steel rims that will be noticable?

Thanks in advance.

Slips

Steelies

I like the slips a lot, light, good looking wheel. And $600 with tires is pretty good deal.

haha....but my steelies are spray painted black so they are a little better than that

But besides the "cool factor" is there any benefit in performance? Is the tire wheel weight that big of a difference? I need new tires anyways....

Well your steel wheels are lighter than the Slips, but they will make your car look way better, they arent going to make your car any faster or any slower. What size are the 15s or 16s?

I am not sure what size they are, i was probablly going to go for some 15s But i thought the slips would be lighter, but i wasnt expecting any performance gains just wondering if there way any benefits besides the bling factor, and of course needed tires.

Well they will have more of and offset than the steelies and will be wider and with lower profile tires the car will corner a lot better, because of a larger footprint and less sidewall roll. If you like them just buy em, Im not really a salesman, but Im trying to tell you everything I can.

a stock 13-14" steel wheel with those big tires are heavier than a 15" rota slip with a fairly low profile tire.

On my turbo hatch I had the real deal Spoon Sports Sw888's in 5 lug, 16" and they were lighter than the 15" rota slipstreams. They were also $2200.00 without tires. I'm a fan of slips, I like the look of black wheels, but the flat black, not the gloss black.

The spoon sw888's were something like 5.5lbs each without tire. Slips are 8-9lbs I believe.

I just figured that factory steel wheels where lighter than the slips. But the real Spoon wheels have to be super light. I think its funny that the Slips are Spoon copies and they make copies of the Slips, must be a damn popular wheel.

no, they make it look straight ghetto.

i have a saying that i tell people, "just because you take your hubcaps off, doesn't make you a racer."

steelies make you look broke. (not to the op, just kids in general)

they are heavy, ugly, and come in shitty sizes.

$600 is a steal if they are brand new with GOOD tires.

everyone hatin on the steelies. i for one have always been partial to the steelie. theyre free, they look relatively clean, and sometimes(usually always in my case) its either roll steelies and get that much needed dyno time so the latest project can dd, or rock a set of slips or volks while my fmu burns up my mortgage payment. do love the slip's knockoff spoon look, tho. plus i know everyone here has had their pride and joy on steel at one point or another

we are hating on steelies because they look like shit and come in horrible sizes and are heavy as hell.

it's not hard to get $200 together and get some fat fives or some webs.
