hey, i own a 93 EG civic hatch and im looking to do an engine swap, i have been looking at a b16a though reading some of the topics i am wondering if other engines are more owrth it eg. k20 or b18??
any help?

yea you got the b16 or the b18(gsr) which they are both gonna be about the same prolly price wise but do research on what you can do most with or what your goals are

im pretty sure b18's run more expensive than b16's

not if its a b18 ls or gsr compared to a ek type r b16b. hell the usdm gsr isn't that much better than the jdm b16a sirII. but yes the more expensive engines tend to be b18's.

also a b18c1 (gsr) is going to be a lot more expensive than any version of the b16a. at hmotors you can purchase a b16 anywhere from 1450-1800. jsm gsr will run ya $2,600! prices are for motor, trans, and ecu.

to the op: if the engine you have is in decent shape and you want to consider turbocharging it, that would not be a bad route to go. of course i would run a good bit more than 6-8 psi on it if you intend on being able to keep up with b18 swapped vehicles. if you don't feel like building the d, then swapping it out and dropping a b in, is another good choice.

My first swap was B16a in 93 hatch. It's a simple swap fpr the most part. It will be fun for a while, but you will find yourself not happy later on. I should'nt say that. really it depends on what your goals are. Figure that out first. You mentioned the K20? I performed this swap also. I'm very happy with it right now. It is more expensive, but well worth the value. K20Z swap and little extra(not much you got a low 12 high 11 second car.

Spoon parts? Yeah, ok. Make sure you throw a MoTec system exhaust on there too...and Mushimoto ZX tires...
