LS bottom= non vtec, b18a/B18B= LS .you would need a B16a b18c type head and an Ls or B20 bottom golden eagle makes conversion kits for it but I would recommend searching here first.

I hope your not planing to use the tranny you have in the car right now because it wont bolt up to a B series because the engine that came in the car was a D series and most D and B series parts wont work together but pretty much all of the same series parts will all work together.

Maybe its moisture in the dist. cap and it recondences on the electrodes when it cools down? But it seems like it would have worked its way out by now. but its just something easy you could check.
