hmm i wonder. i really hope not. but i took the paper clip out that i used to jump the wires and the CEL turned on like it should when you turn on the ignition so its working. it just doesnt turn on and flash when i jump the wires

ok i have a CEL. but when i jump the clip so i can read the code, turn the key on, the CEL wont turn on and just stay off. but when i take the wire out, and turn the key to on, the CEL does what it's suppose to and comes on for a short time.
Why does it not come on when i want to read the code?
i may have bumped into something because i was working on that side when i was messing with the throttle body. i double check the resisitor box as well because i didnt take much time to re connect the rbox when i had it off with stock injectors
